It's official, Em is potty trained! She hasn't had an accident for about 2 weeks now. We started trying at the beginning of August and things went pretty well. Then we went to Seattle and fell off the wagon, since we didn't feel like trying to find a potty every hour while out and about. Once we got back Em did fine. I think over all she probably only had 8-10 accidents total, and never #2, which was very courteous, no?
The only real trouble that we had was constipation in the beginning. She wasn't wanting to poop on the potty at first. So she held it in, sometimes for a few days! I kept thinking, "This girl eats more fruit and fiber than anyone I know...how can she not poop?!" Luckily she worked through it and it's no longer an issue.
I've still been putting on a diaper for naps and overnight, even though she is often dry. I just haven't gotten around to buying a waterproof mattress pad so we'll stick with nighttime diapers for a bit longer.
At 2 years, 4 months, Em makes parenting so easy. I hope I'll be able to say the same when she's 16!
