Scene One: The car
Me: Em, what do you have in your mouth?
Em: (doing something funny with her mouth) boo.. (pointing to her nose)
Me: Huh? Are you eating a booger?
Me: Oh, Em yuck. You shouldn't eat boogers. That's ishy!
Em: Yummy! Yummy, mama!
Scene Two: Living Room, Em digging in my purse
Em: (pulls out a dollar bill) Money!
Me: Yeah. Em, do you know who that guy is on the money?
Em: (studies 'ol George carefully...pauses...) GRANDPA!
Scene Three: Rocking before bed, Em is holding a little super ball
Em: (Smells the ball and makes a funny face)
Me: Is that ball stinky?
Em: (Smells it again, has me smell it)
Me: What does it smell like?
Me: Naw! It doesn't smell like cheese!
Me: Yeah, I guess it might smell like shoes?!
The days...they are filled with endless delight when it comes to the ever expanding toddler vocabulary.
