Things are back to normal after the big seizure scare. Emmie's doing well, other than having the "antibiotic poops". (Use your imagination!)
Here in MN the weather is scorching hot. 100 degrees and HIGH humidity. It's gross. So we hit the Children's Museum and the beach this weekend. We thought Emmie would be somewhat timid at the lake, since she started out hating her bath.
We hung out on the beach for a bit and saw the other kids swimming. She was intrigued so Tom picked her up and slowly walked into the water. She was her silent, stoic self in a new situation. Not one peep when Tom put her legs in the water. She never seemed afraid, just wide-eyed and taking it all in.
We would take turns helping her float in the water and soon enough she was "swimming" towards us with her hands out and sometimes her mouth underwater. (Oops! Don't need any more infections around here, thank you.)
She loved walking in and out of the water and then out onto the sand. It was a delightful afternoon, even in the heat. That picture of her concentrating and floating with her arms out might just be my favorite picture so far. It seems to sum up her character. Pensive, brave , stoic.
