Well, here's the latest...Tom reminds me that this is really what we have know for quite some time (aka nothing!) but actually, we have a somewhat more definite timeline now.
It sounds as if we will not get our referral next week...the referrals will more than likely only include dossiers that were logged in from May 14-May 30th/31st. Since we were logged in on June 2nd, we won't be in this batch, but we will *without*a*doubt* be included in the next batch.
So here's my imagined timeline:
Week of February 27th...cry and complain that we didn't get our referral, continue to wait.
March 1st-26th...accomplish hardly anything, due to complete addicition to internet for ANY speck of information about what might be happening in the matching room. Maybe finish the quilt? Maybe finish some other projects around the house that need to be done? Bother our friends like mad inviting ourselves over to their houses so that we can have some diversion :0)
Week of March 27th...receive referral!! (Medical records, photo, more?) Please, oh, please!!
Wait for travel approval from China
Week of May 8th? May 15th? Head to China to meet our beautiful daughter!! Believe me, I've considered boarding a plane and just waiting for the call while I'm sitting in my hotel room in Beijing, but my agency would then worry about my sanity...so I've decided against it at this point!
This past weekend Tom and I got together with Max and Chuck (Tom's parents) and we started working on the quilt. We decided to go with a heart pattern and we began cutting the fabric into hearts. Both Tom & Chuck were instrumental in the cutting process! They worked for several hours with us :0) Luckily, Max was on duty for heart sewing...she's a master quilter!
Here is a pic of the pattern we like and are trying to replicate:
Here is a pic of all the hearts...yep, there are some down right funky ones! Old PJ's from my dad's childhood, grandma's robe, jeans from a friend, hawaiian shirt and dress print, retro prints, new prints, the old Jake's Pizza logo, and so many more COOL designs. I can't wait to get it finished!
And then there's my husband's heart...you guessed it, he had a whacky idea...he cut up an old Superman blanket (extra fuzzy and pilly) and added it to the quilt! It's actually kinda cute in the end. Gotta love that boy ;0)
